Geneva, January 16, 2023 - Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), the world’s largest leading industry association for the blockchain and digital assets community, today officially announced its 2024 Board of Directors and the appointment of Emma Joyce as Senior Managing Director for Financial Services and Head of EMEA. Composed of renowned industry leaders with deep expertise across blockchain, digital assets, regulation, and artificial intelligence (AI), the new Board is poised to guide GBBC through the next wave of innovation and convergence with emerging technologies.

The addition of new board directors is designed to strengthen GBBC’s governance and leadership as a rapidly growing organization, with more than 500 institutional members and with seven initiatives under its umbrella, including the U.S. Blockchain Coalition, which GBBC merged with in November.

2024 GBBC Board of Directors:

  • David Treat, Senior Managing Director and Global Metaverse Continuum Business Group Lead, Accenture. Treat is an established and trusted expert in blockchain, who has advised numerous companies and public entities on their blockchain and digital strategy. Treat is also Board Chair of the Linux Hyperledger Project.
  • Staci Warden, CEO, Algorand Foundation. Warden is a trusted capital market executive, who has worked in more than 50 countries and advised on the potential for cryptocurrencies and blockchains to solve real-world problems. Warden previously ran the Milken Institute’s Global Market Development Practice and led JPMorgan’s EMEA public sector practice.
  • Yuval Rooz, Co-Founder & CEO, Digital Asset. Rooz is a visionary leader at the intersection of technology and finance, who has grown Digital Asset into a leading enterprise blockchain company whose technology is used by top institutions and market infrastructure providers globally.
  • Jeff Bandman, Principal, Bandman Advisors; Partner, 6529 NFT Group; Former Founding Director, LabCFTC; Industry Fellow and Instructor, University of Nicosia Institute for the Future. Bandman is an expert in navigating strategic innovation and regulatory challenges and advises governments and private companies. He previously served as a senior official at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he was the Founding Director and architect of LabCFTC. He is co-founder of Global Digital Finance.
  • John deVadoss, Co-Founder & CEO, NeuralFabric Corp. deVadoss is an experienced developer and entrepreneur, who built the industry’s first Token Taxonomy Framework as part of GBBC’s InterWork Alliance and is now developing an open-source generative AI platform, NeuralFabric.
  • Dr. Reto Luthiger, Partner, MLL Legal. Luthiger is an experienced lawyer, who co-heads MLL’s Fintech, DLT, and Blockchain industry group. Luthiger has advised numerous companies in the areas of Swiss and international financial market law, as well as proceedings before FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.
  • Dimitrios Psarrakis, Former Financial Technology, Digital Transformation, and Innovation Strategy Specialist, European Parliament; Co-Founder, ValueVerse. Psarrakis is a financial economist and financial markets innovator, having worked for seven years at the European Union in the fields of blockchain technology, capital markets union, and the shaping of key regulation, including MiCA, TFR, and the DLT Pilot Regime.
  • Tanvi Singh, Managing Director and Technology Lead for Global Digital Assets, UBS. Singh is an expert in data-driven financial services, she is currently designing and building UBS’ digital assets platform, and previously led UBS’ AI, Data, and Analytics Foundation Hub, where she played a crucial role in establishing the firm’s AI capabilities and expertise.
