Binance celebrates its seventh anniversary with 200 million users and launches the “Be Binance” campaign, marking a milestone in its journey toward mainstream Web3 adoption.

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has turned seven years old, in another testament to the maturing digital asset industry.

Binance, which boasts over 200 million users worldwide, has also launched a new “Be Binance” campaign to celebrate the company’s milestone.

The new campaign aims to celebrate and reward the exchange’s loyal customers, according to Rachel Conlan, the chief marketing officer at Binance. She wrote in an announcement shared with Cointelegraph:

“Through determination, curiosity and responsibility, we’ve faced challenges and reaped rewards, thanks to our 200 million users. As we journey toward financial freedom, we stay true to our values: humility, kindness, collaboration and gratitude.”

Binance is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, with a daily trading volume exceeding $25.3 billion. This makes it more than seven times larger than the second-largest exchange, Coinbase, which has a daily trading volume of $3.3 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.

There is still “massive growth potential” beyond 200 million users — Binance exec

While Binance has already surpassed 200 million users, Rachel Conlan, its chief marketing officer, says there is still massive growth potential.

Education will be key for attracting the next wave of mainstream adopters, Conlan told Cointelegraph:

“Education and raising awareness are absolutely key. 200 million + is an impressive number, but if you think about it, both the industry and our user base still have a massive potential for growth.”

The exchange secured its first 100 million users in five years and 200 million in two more years. Over 30 million news users have signed up to Binance in the first half of 2024.

The milestone makes the vision of reaching the first billion Web3 users more feasible, according to Binance’s Conlan:

“A few years ago, 200 million users looked like something from a sci-fi movie. Today, onboarding the first billion to Web3 feels like an attainable target, even though we realize that it will still take years of hard work.”

The "Be Binance" campaign spans over 19 countries

The celebratory campaign will offer users a wide range of activities, including in-person meet-ups, virtual events, social media contests and upcoming promotions.

The exchange will also launch a series of giveaways via social media and community channels like Binance Square. Users can answer questions and share their Binance-related experiences to win a share of the $7,000 worth of Binance’s BNB (BNB) token prize pool and other merchandise.

In-person events to celebrate the milestone will take place in 19 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Spain and Benin.

Educational efforts will also remain a key focus for the exchange, according to Conlan:

“At Binance, we will keep educating people globally about how digital assets can make their lives better and demonstrate the utility that crypto can drive by innovating and shipping products that people use and value.”
