The company VirtEx often referred on the web as CaVitrEx to point out the country of origin – Canada – widens the lineup of services provided to attract more customers and to make a step higher in the overall rankings of similar platforms. The current update features the introduction of trade of Litecoin.

The operation of the service seems to be very stable, considering the fact that the implementation of different changes is made very rare. After the launch of the platform on the 2nd July of 2011 only one crucial alteration was made – the deposit and withdrawal of funds via Interac e-Transfers (EMTs) was abandoned IN August of the same year. Smaller developments on safety and comfort have been made regularly, but cannot be considered as crucial steps. Now, the adding of Litecoin widens the range of currencies. The only pair processed was Bitcoin / Canadian dollar and vice a versa. Now the “silver” cryptocoin can be exchanged both towards BTC and the fiat local dollar. The announcement dates back on Wednesday, the 19th of February.

The CEO of VirtEx Joseph David proudly comments the announcement: “We are very excited to be the first exchange to allow traders to buy Litecoin with Canadian dollars. This is a milestone in the history of cryptocurrency in Canada.”

He has also explained that the decision to add a new currency was made upon request of many current and potential users of the service. The company appreciates feedback and sees profitability in that kind of step.

The statement was issued as a milestone on the homepage of the exchanger and in the blog. The press release says: “The development of LTC trading at VirtEx paves the way for the launch of other cryptocurrencies in the near future.”

The possibility of adding other currencies to the timeline is also covered in the text: “The development of LTC trading at VirtEx paves the way for the launch of other cryptocurrencies in the near future.”

The experts unanimously agree that the decision has positive perspectives and can stimulate the growth of the company. Since the initial launch, the company has traded Bitcoin worth $73 million CAD. The rise of prices of other currencies, including Litecoin, might attract new users and potential investors.
