If you’re a celebrity and you haven’t yet been „snicklinked“, you’re one of a rare kind. Almost everybody has fallen in his traps already: Snicklink is the Berlin-based meme artist whose art goes bananas on social media with the most astonishingly hilarious AI deep fakes of celebrities and politicians. Revealing absurdities in this satirical way combining mad creative skills makes people actually laugh in the millions.

His videos prompted Jordan Peterson to talk about how bad the German Minister for Foreign Affairs is and made Bill Maher slam a German columnist for shaming peace protesters. He garnered media attention on public and private German TV with viewers in the millions.

I guess, Jordan Peterson tweeting that your art deserves 10 years in jail means you made it.

Attention: Vegan handgrenades!

His latest coup went around the globe last week and got “Hercules” Kevin Sorbo and Journalist Michael Knowles fired up (both have followers in the millions). The latter called Snicklinks work “really good, a really good deepfake”, when Snicklink lets “Greta” elaborate about the necessity of a “vegan war”, with “biodegradable missiles and vegan handgrenades”. And of course: no way for tanks through vegetable gardens! Even though Snicklink marks all his deep fakes with a „Satire“ Warning, his art is still too good to not fall for.

The real comedy starts in real when fact checkers and media start to explain, that, indeed no, German chancellor Olaf Scholz didn`t mention “Thanos” in one of his speeches, and no, the German government “is not made up of aliens” (thanks for the clarification), as a deep fake by Snicklink over Carpenters “They live” may suggest. In the case of “Greta” the fact checkers seem to have the real laugh on their side, making every video by Snicklink a special kind of virtual art happening, by ridiculing themselves.

Snicklink is releasing today some of his rare work as a NFT collection! Find his first pieces of art for sale here.

A global arts movement around Truth Memes’s uncensorable platform

But this is far more than a simple NFT drop. It’s the creation of a critical art movement. The NFT sale helps the newly established Truth Memes platform to create a whole ecosystem for meme artists, which will run on a decentralized and censorship resistant platform. Times are hard for critical art creators: Writers get punished, Memes get fact checked and censored - recently a creator of memes even got jailed.

Censorship is on the rise, as the Twitter Files show and increasingly intellectuals speak out against it, like in the recently published Westminster Declaration. Truth Memes is a arts movement, which helps to promote free speech through Truth Memes, satirical truth bullets - sparking discussion and the exchange of ideas.

So far, Truth Memes has united meme artists with a followership in the millions, to bring critical artwork to the masses and preserve it for eternity. This makes the young project one of the biggest meme movements in the crypto space from the get-go.

The portfolio of artists will be revealed in its entirety as the project evolves. The first Ambassador that was announced is the scientist Simon Goddek, who was severely censored on Twitter during the pandemic and who has rebuilt a followership of over half a million addressing meme lovers and critical thinkers.

At this very moment, Truth Memes published also a call to arms for laughter and ridicule, a poem-style “Memefesto” by its anonymous founder Ashoka Trismegistos. Feeling like you`re a cultural fit to this project? Those with a good sense of humor and a meme channel can ask to be drafted in the Truth memes army or join as an ambassador or supporter. Check out their Telegram channel.

Or, in their words:

“Rise, Truth Meme army of the world, let humor be our sword, against the fortress of the false, us very degen meme-crafted horde.”

As a non-profit, "Truth Memes" is devoted to disturbing the entertained, and entertaining the disturbed. We champion the cause of free expression, heralding a space where creativity flourishes beyond borders and barriers, engaging minds in the exquisite art of memetic conversations.

Get ready to embark on a journey where each NFT is a masterstroke of memetic art. With "Truth Memes", you're not just owning an NFT; you're embracing a vibrant community and becoming a part of a movement that celebrates the transformative power of memes in cultivating conversations, promoting free speech, and nurturing a global dialogue that’s as enlightening as it is entertaining.

Memelovers and emerging Memelords or other degens grasping for truth are invited to get their draft papers for the movement and to drop their memes in the first upcoming meme competition.
