WOW Summit continues to travel worldwide, uniting the greatest Web3 minds in different locations. On Nov. 1 through 3, WOW Summit welcomed the global community for its third edition in Lisbon, launching its chapter in Europe. Renowned speakers, funds, investors, CEOs, influencer, and crypto enthusiasts gathered for the hottest discussions, keynotes and fireside chats, a startup pitching competition and high-class networking at a premier venue — SUD Lisboa.

During the three days of WOW, around 1,500 attendees, 70 speakers and 60 partners joined WOW Lisbon. It was made possible thanks to its general technical partners — Metavibes, BR Group and IT Ukraine Association — as well as its other media, strategic, and supporting partners.

The WOW audience welcomed to the stage renowned leaders in the space, such as Joel Dietz, MetaMetaverse CEO, founding member of Ethereum and MetaMask architect; Sandy Carter, senior vice president at Unstoppable Domains; Robin Lynn, blockchain advisor and visionary architect; Rui Serapicos, president of the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance; Peta Milan, founder and principal at Henmil Group Family Office; Alessandra Silvestri von Bismarck, board member at Blockchain Compliance Foundation; Oliver von Wolf, co-founder of Helion VC; Laurent Perello, blockchain advisor at Tron DAO; and more. Top industry players joined the event, representing companies like Yarchain, Consensys, Bitmedia, Bened, Neotech, Tron, DappRadar and many more.

Joel Dietz said:

“[I] had an incredible time at WOW Summit in Lisbon, with interesting conversations, great people and an amazing location. Was a pleasure to sit down with WOW Summit’s editor-in-chief Victoria Loskutova to chat about the project I founded and am currently working on, the MetaMetaverse, its core functionality, and in what ways it will be adapted in the future, sharing my vision and projections I see as a growth trajectory. Caught up with other companies and startups that are disrupting the Web3 environment, got a lot of great feedback on our project and its potential use cases, along with the Open Metaverse Alliance that we are a part of.”

On Nov. 1 and 3, blockchain startups presented their projects at the startup pitch competition, supported by Startup Lisboa, Portuguese Blockchain Alliance, Quantum Leap Strategy and Taikai. Fortune was on the side of Tagion, Tokapi, Bubblemaps, Caddi and Rubic. The winners got valuable prizes and the attention of top-tier VC funds, including three months of free Market Making Pro, participation and pitching in Davos at the EmTech Invest Hub for investors with more than $5 billion in assets under management, and investor relations for six months in the UAE and Europe managed by the WOW Summit team and Alena Yudina, CEO of the Swiss-regulated financial intermediary Quantum Leap Strategy. The results of the ongoing rounds will be announced in March at WOW Summit Hong Kong.

Michal Bacia, token economist and BonqDAO co-founder, said:

“WOW Summit was by far the best crypto–Web3 conference in Lisbon this year. The size was just right for networking and the venue was exceptional. Five stars, would definitely recommend!”

All three days of WOW Lisbon were filled with needed and important discussions on topics including but not limited to innovation, data privacy, startup success, blockchain ecosystem, gaming, smart contracts, cybersecurity, sustainability, tax, growth strategies, the creator economy, NFTs, VR, DeFi and much more. Along with the main conference area at the venue were stunning terraces with a view of the Tejo river, a restaurant, and a VIP pool area with an open bar. Two private VC breakfasts by Helion VC and VNTR Capital, complimentary lunches and gala dinners were held at the restaurant with a gorgeous view, where participants enjoyed high-class networking and some quality time with delicious food and drinks. One of the gala dinners was hosted by Marwan Alzarouni, strategic advisor at Digital Dubai, and saw tremendous success.

Milagros Santamaria, lawyer at Tokenize-IT and moderator of the panel on DAOs and governance, shared:

“Participating at the event was both a learning and networking opportunity with like-minded people. An opportunity to grow and share in the same industry.”

WOW Summit continues gaining popularity among top global Web3 professionals and enthusiasts because of its exceptional niche networking. Experts are bullish and expect the next crypto year to be promising, while WOW will kick off in Hong Kong on March 29 and 30, 2023, to shake APAC with some life-changing ventures and side events.
