Lake Xochimilco, Mexico City - Axolotls are a critically endangered species of salamanders native only to freshwater lakes in Mexico City. Not only are they striking in appearance, but these permanent tadpoles are also the only species known to be able to regenerate every body part including their brains and spinal cords. They are critical in advancing our understanding of regenerative medicine.

When Pandora took the NFT world by storm with native fractionalization using ERC404, they solved one of the biggest scaling issues plaguing collections. The BAYC for example only has 10,000 NFTs, which means for anyone to become a member of this “Yacht Club” someone must be willing to leave. Capping their user base at exactly 10,000. This prompted them to create the Mutant Ape Yacht Club, but no matter what the MAYC will always be second-class citizens compared to BAYC. With ERC404 and its more recent iteration DN404, this limitation is removed by tying an ERC20 token directly with the NFTs using smart contracts.

In the world of Tearful Tadpoles, every 200 $SWIM Tokens automatically mints a Tadpole NFT. This means at 1,000,000 max supply with 10 to 18 decimal places, $SWIM memberships theoretically can include the entire human population. As ERC20 tokens are fungible and are all the same, no token is better than another. Of course, this adds a twist to NFT collecting as well. Say you hold 200 $SWIM tokens in your Metamask account, this means you automatically are minted a Tadpole. Say you don’t like the traits of your current tadpole, all you have to do is sell 1 SWIM token on an exchange and buy it back to reroll your NFT Traits. This not only incentivizes trading volume but adds an element of fun to collecting rare traits; making it more Play to Win, rather than Pay to Win.

$SWIM presales were launched on March 20th on the BLAST network, at 0.0005ETH (1.61 USD at the time of mint) per $SWIM Token, at the time of this article $SWIM is trading on Thruster at 2.1 USD per $SWIM Token. On top of the Blast Gold gained by interacting with the project, the team behind Tearful Tadpoles’ is planning to distribute 100% of their Blast developer points to holders. A snapshot will be taken sometime in April to determine eligibility.

$SWIM Founder Sad Creator posted on Twitter on Wednesday, March 27th, that the team has donated 10,786 USD to the Adopt an Axolotl campaign to date and aims to use Fees and the natural Yield generated on Blast to provide ongoing monthly support to the Axolotl conservation effort.

SadCreator whose real-life experience mostly lies in game development, expressed a possibility of a play-to-earn game coming in the future that will further cement the future of conservation with the blockchain. SadCreator also mentions if the project continues to be successful more conservation tokens will be launched soon where $SWIM holders will be able to stake their Tadpoles to farm new tokens.
