Surfin’ Bitcoin, the fourth edition of the conference organized by StackinSat, is pleased to unveil the program of its English-speaking stage, which will take place on Aug. 24 and 25, 2023 in Biarritz, France. The event aims to deeply explore essential aspects of the industry, with a particular focus on education, economy and technological innovations on Bitcoin and Lightning Network. The opening evening will be held on Aug. 23 at the iconic Les Halles de Biarritz.
Education is at the core of this fourth edition of Surfin’ Bitcoin. As a constantly expanding community, it’s essential to ensure that newcomers and industry players understand the fundamentals of Bitcoin (BTC). As part of the English-speaking stage, a panel titled “How to educate the next wave of Bitcoiners” will bring together experts to discuss best practices in education and awareness about Bitcoin. A keynote on “Community-based adoption in Central America” will also explore the challenges and opportunities related to Bitcoin adoption in local communities.
The economy is another major focus of this edition. In these times of economic and financial changes, it is crucial to understand the role of Bitcoin in the global landscape. Therefore, our program will include presentations and panels that address the economics of Bitcoin and its potential impact on global markets. Among the highlights of the English-speaking stage, we will have a keynote on “Menger, Hayek and cryptocurrencies,” highlighting the links between Austrian economics and cryptocurrencies. The panel “Bitcoin at the crossroads: A discussion on monetary design and investment future” will offer a theoretical and practical vision, providing an in-depth reflection on Bitcoin’s monetary design and its economic implications.
Finally, technological innovation will play a central role in this year’s Surfin’ Bitcoin. The organizers have dedicated an entire day of the English-speaking stage to technological advancements in Bitcoin and layer-2 solutions. Presentations and debates will cover cutting-edge topics in the industry, with a focus on the evolution of Lightning Network, smart contracts, NFTs and much more. A keynote on “Bitcoin smart contracts overview (on-chain, LN, RGB)” will present the various possibilities offered by smart contracts on Bitcoin and layer-2 solutions. A panel on “Scaling up Bitcoin: RGB, taproot assets face off” will explore scaling solutions for the Bitcoin network.
In addition to these three main themes, Surfin’ Bitcoin will offer an exceptional networking opportunity, allowing participants to meet experts, entrepreneurs, investors and Bitcoin enthusiasts from around the world. The event will take place in an exceptional setting, including the “Networking Night” on Aug. 23 at the prestigious Les Halles de Biarritz, creating an environment conducive to exchanges and informal discussions.
A plethora of renowned speakers will be sharing insights, including George Selgin, the world-renowned American economist; Thaddeus Dryja, co-creator of the Lightning Network; Ray Youssef, founder of Paxful and involved in the CivKit project; and many others.
