MEMECON, the world’s first-ever memecoin conference, debuted with a bang in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, Lisbon. In partnership with NFC, this groundbreaking event brought together over 5000 attendees and more than 50 speakers from across the globe.
Over three days, participants immersed themselves in a whirlwind of activities, including insightful panels, charitable events, vibrant parties, and countless business opportunities. MEMECON was not just a conference; it was a celebration of memecoin culture, fostering connections and sparking innovation within this rapidly growing community.
History was made in Lisbon this week! For the first time ever, degens from across the world came together to revel in memecoin culture like never before! From as far as Mexico, Australia and Hong Kong, the leading minds and misfits of this movement came to share their thoughts, ideas and stories on stage with the meme coin MC and Maestro himself David Gersch leading proceedings.
Sporting a giant replica Gersch head! No topic was off limits as speakers were roasted and released from their shackles! This wasn’t your ordinary conference, and at times it felt like watching a meme in motion, closer to comedy on stage with a touch of seriousness in just the right places.
Some of the 75 partners of MEMECON took to the stage including MEMELAND, Doland Tremp, Own the Doge, Harry Potter Obama Sonic 10 inu & Gotbit with a Crypto Banter ecosystem panel discussion on Gummy and Tooker with special guests Fefe, Sheldon and Ran Neuner who made the trip from South Africa to be with the MEMECON fam in Lisbon!
In between the madness of the panels, MEMECON saw a number of lighting talks with alpha releases and education with some of the brightest and best minds in this nascent and evolving memecoin space. Whilst outside the main entrance of the venue the lads from the UK with their used car were having their own mini rave in the forecourt with skateboarders kickflipping off hood of the 2001 Honda Civic, whilst conducting interviews from the meme machine itself!
MEMECON also witnessed the launch of two memecoins live on stage, one cock sucking coconut and the launch of $DAN by King Moulla! Whilst in the foreground of the stage revelations and memecoin sins were being shared in the 1910 confession booth!
There was also a tribute to the recent Kabosu and a dog adoption event! The chief dog officer of MEMECON, QUARTZ, made his debut public appearance with four adoptable dogs from APAAC, the local Portuguese shelter from which he was rescued. The event successfully raised €6000, thanks to contributions from Own The Doge, Dogami, Chuchu, HPOS10i, and a live auction by the artist Hatory Pabblo.
And in tribute MEMECON also arranged a party to celebrate the lives of both the late Kabuso and Harambe.
MEMECON’S now infamous slogan LETS GET REKT didn’t disappoint as degens danced and drank their way through most of the bars, clubs and beaches of Lisbon, with a opening MEMECON party sponsored by Fomo Bull Club with 800 people in attendance, a second night party Hosted by Bitget, FOMO & Used Car and a final hurrah on the beaches of Lisbon with the leading dance festival MOGA and NFC summit as co-hosts!
What was proven over the three days in Lisbon is that MEMECON has cemented a place in the hearts of the community, giving anons the chance to meet and make lifelong friends and memories! But that’s not all, events should bring more business to attendees and that’s what MEMECON provided. Most of our partners are leaving Lisbon with insane deal pipelines!
The importance of a memecoin event that builds bridges and trust across the memecoin space, whilst also bringing communities together cannot be underestimated! MEMECON felt just right culturally, but also raw and uncensored like a rough gem waiting to be shaped!
