Blockchain loyalty platform Chain of Points has appointed iPayYou CEO and ex-Amazon executive Gene Kavner to its board of advisors.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Kavner, whose startup facilitates Bitcoin payments with merchants including Starbucks, said he was “honored” to join Chain of Points.
“Chain of Points is the clear leader in the Blockchain-loyalty market and has realized tremendous growth over the past few months,” he commented. “I look forward to working with the company's management team to drive Chain of Points in the market as an essential component of the retail and loyalty industry.”
Canada-based Chain of Points seeks to use its own digital token to incentivize and encourage participation in corporate loyalty schemes.
The crowd sale for the token, POINTS, ends in approximately one month’s time and has raised just over six BTC since it began Monday.
Commenting on hiring Kavner, who also worked as an architect for Microsoft’s MSN social network, the startup was upbeat.
“Gene has been a proven leader and innovator in the retail and crypto industries. His knowledge and diverse background will be instrumental as we continue to grow,” CEO Irene Katzela said.
“I am beyond excited that Gene is joining our Board of Advisors and cannot wait to see what the future holds.”
