Ibiza will host Web3 experts, thought-leaders and visionaries this October for the second Ibiza NXT conference. Spread over three days from Oct. 13 to 15, the event firmly establishes the “White Isle” as a destination on the international Web3 map, alongside leading locations like Miami, London and Lisbon.
This year’s conference will host leading international speakers who will deepen cutting-edge debates in the Web3 and blockchain world, with a specific focus on DeFi, crypto, DAOs, crypto cities, NFTs and the Metaverse. Attendees will also enjoy a series of panel discussions, workshops, digital art exhibitions and networking opportunities.
Ibiza has recently embarked on the path to becoming a crypto island by leveraging Web3. The aim is to connect local artists and companies to a global audience and educate the community about the potential of blockchain technology.
As a result, Ibiza NXT was born to connect Ibiza to the potential of Web3 and blockchain by bringing together international speakers and local representatives of industry, culture and institutions to discuss the infinite possibilities to improve our lives and business through these technologies.
The organizers of Ibiza NXT said: “Ever since the 60s, Ibiza has been a cultural mecca for those at the cutting edge — forward-thinkers, radicals and change-makers have always flocked here. And right now, Web3 is at the forefront of tectonic transformations in the way we spend, the way we live and the way we think. The conference and the workshops will be held at two venues: The Twiins Ibiza, a new concept of lifestyle hotel, and The Hub Ibiza, a community-focused workspace in the heart of Ibiza that connects creatives, entrepreneurs and executives from start-ups through to the world’s biggest companies.
What’s on at Ibiza NXT?
The three-day event presents an extended agenda of discussion panels, workshops together and networking opportunities, with sunset aperitifs and music events in Ibiza’s world-famous clubs.
On Oct. 13 and 14, panels and keynote speeches will be held at Twiins Ibiza. Then, on Oct. 15, there will be workshops and hackathons at The Hub Ibiza and an NFT exhibition in the old town of Ibiza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Furthermore, there will be a daily side event and collaboration with the Ibiza Light Festival, which sees more than 2,000 spectators annually.
The conference line-up includes speakers such as Coti.io CEO and chairman of Uncaged Web3 Games Shaaf Bar Geffen, Wespark founder Nelson Inno, NFT strategist and advisor at Superfolks.io Delphin Miloudi Druelle, Linking Realities and Union Avatar CEO Cai Felip, Hotelvers co-founder and CEO Fermin Carmona, Quadrans Foundation co-founder Davide Costa, Blockchain Caffe founder and TEDx speaker Marco Crotta, Noku.io CEO Roberto Gorini and many others.
This year, great importance has been given to women in crypto by counting on talented professionals such as Crypto.com senior creative NFT producer Maria Teresa Spezzano, Onefootball’s NFT senior legal counsel Joanna Rindell, Waceo.org managing director Aleksa Mil, FTW DAO founding member Isla Munro-Hochmayr and Claudia Giraldo from CommoSense Finance.
On the institution’s side, the conference will provide speeches from Aitor Morras, Deputy Mayor of Ibiza City; Eduardo Zuriña, innovation director at Balearic Islands government; Pietro Poretti, director of the economic promotion division at the City of Lugano; Paolo Bortolin, deputy chief financial officer at City of Lugano; Jan Trautmann, innovation lead at Lugano Living Lab and member of the blockchain and crypto task force of the City of Lugano.
Oct. 15 will be fully dedicated to the workshops, featuring sections such as “Introduction to cryptocurrencies” by Crypto Willy, popularizer and official host of the event, as well as “Learn how to build an NFT marketplace” by Mohamed Ben Hajla and a livestream on “How to conceptualize, create and license a with Canistore’s IP Tools” by the Canistore team.
