Ghost Security Group, a counter terrorism network, wants to stand against ISIS as they look to track the terrorists of Friday’s Paris attack and invites Internet users to report extremist social media accounts, threats or websites.

According to the report, the Ghost Security Group noticed activity from ISIS’s personnel that they are tracking in order to collect valuable evidence for government officials. The anonymous member of GSG said the group has already uncovered several Bitcoin addresses that might be used by ISIS.

However, there are no proofs that digital currency was actually used to support terrorist attack in Paris. GSG told to Cointelegraph via e-mail:

“We had discovered a BtC address linked to a known Islamic State deep website approximately three months ago and provided it to dw.com. They hired a team of blockchain analysts to trace the cryptocurrency to the estimated 3 million in BtC the discovered.”

Nevertheless, it seems that there are groups of hackers collecting ransom in digital currency and pretending to support ISIS. Previously we have reported about the major email scams in New Zealand where hackers claiming to be the Syrian Electronic Army were sending emails demanding a ransom of $1,500 in Bitcoin to support ISIS' army in its war.

Ghost Security Group of 12 core members sais that works independently of the authorities and claim to have ex-military, data analysis and cybersecurity backgrounds, and all of them prefer to work anonymously. They say theat the group was formed after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris in January 2015 and the IS's aggressive propaganda on social media.
