Zug, Switzerland, 23rd March 2024GAIMIN, the world’s leader in delivering decentralised data processing power through gaimin.clou, and io.net one of the world’s largest Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) for AI compute have agreed to investigate how the synergistic technologies from both companies can be integrated to deliver the processing capability to support the growing market for cloud gaming.

Cloud gaming is the ability to play a game through streaming, reducing the reliance on, and requirement for, dedicated gaming consoles and gaming software to be installed on devices. Cloud gaming services are provided to internet enabled devices with gameplay facilitated through the gamer streaming the game, and interacting with the game services through Internet and data processing services. Speed of data processing is a key component for successful gameplay; game lag kills gameplay, so network and processing technologies need to be optimised to support successful gaming outcomes. Cloud gaming is, by its mechanism of delivery, a large consumer of data processing power.

Both GAIMIN and io.net have developed data processing services based on GPU technology, delivering DePIN architectures for their respective data processing clients. Similar in operation, but with key architectural and design differences to building DePIN solutions, GAIMIN and io.net are investigating how their technologies can work together to provide ad hoc, on demand, scalable processing power to support data processing demands, with cloud gaming being the first service to be considered within this collaboration agreement.

Martin Speight, CEO of GAIMIN commented, “As both GAIMIN and the global gaming industry moves into the Web3 cloud gaming space, the powering of gameplay needs an accessible and scalable powering solution. GAIMIN’s DePIN powering solution which currently comprises over 50,000 GPUs is one component, but being able to scale, and expand and contract powering capability on demand is a key requirement to cost effective service delivery. This collaboration with io.net will explore how both our technologies can support the scaleable demand of this growing industry.”

“This partnership will further cement the pivotal role of decentralized networks in providing critical compute resources to the AI and gaming industries. Decentralized compute is the future, and we are excited to explore our synergies with GAIMIN. With GAIMIN, io.net will make key progress on our goal to put together one million GPUs in our DePIN and ultimately become the world’s largest GPU cloud.” Ahmad Shadid, Founder & CEO of io.net, confirmed.

Martin concluded, “This collaboration with io.net will create the largest, scaleable DePIN architecture available to the cloud gaming industry. Not only will it provide cost effective data processing and optimised streaming capabilities, the DePIN network will cover the world, delivering gameplay to anyone irrespective of location. No gamer is left behind!”

As the global demand for gaming grows, so does the demand for data processing to deliver the gaming experience to all gamers. With ever increasing demands for data processing power across competing industries, such as cloud gaming, AI data processing, video rendering and powering of blockchain computations, the ability to meet demand as required through scaling of processing provision is a challenge facing many companies, but is one that is being solved by processing power providers such as GAIMIN and io.net.

About io.net

io.net is building a decentralized cloud for GPU computing power. io.net solves the shortage in commercial GPU power by aggregating GPUs from multiple sources into a single platform. Engineers can choose from a variety of options such as cluster type, GPU type, and purpose, allowing them to get up and running in seconds. By creating an efficient GPU network, io.net will fuel a wave of AI innovation and power the startups whose technology will transform tomorrow.

About GAIMIN

GAIMIN.IO Ltd (GAIMIN) is a UK and Swiss-based gaming company focused on helping the gaming community monetize the computational power of their gaming PC. GAIMIN has created a decentralized data processing network harnessing underutilized processing power typically found in gaming PCs to create a world-wide decentralized data processing network, delivering supercomputer performance.

With a free-to-download PC-based application, GAIMIN monetizes the under utilised performance through innovative approaches to delivering supercomputer-level data processing performance from a world-wide network of independent processing devices which power GAIMIN.CLOUD. Focusing initially on video rendering and AI data processing, with an always available service to power blockchain computations, the GAIMIN data processing network is continuously delivering data processing services and returning rewards back to its user community.

GAIMIN rewards users in its own cryptocurrency, GMRX which can then be used for purchases on the GAIMIN Marketplace for NFTs, in-game assets, accessories, and merchandise, or it can be converted to fiat or a different cryptocurrency.
