DAO Tokyo Conference, presumably the largest spin-off event in Japan, will be held on April 13, 2023.

Fracton Ventures, an organization committed to the growth of DAOs and the expansion of Web3 products in Japan, announced it will be hosting Japan’s first-ever annual Decentralized Autonomous Organization event, DAO Tokyo 2023. Fracton Venture’s DAO Tokyo is expected to be one of the largest Web3 events ever hosted in Asia.

DAO Tokyo is the official spin-off of DAO NYC, organized by the Tally and ConsenSys teams. DAO Tokyo was created to bridge the learnings, community and support networks between DAOEast and DAO West.

Toshi Kamei, co-founder of Fracton Ventures, stated:

“DAOs are not just a revolutionary way of organizing communities, they are a catalyst for the creation of collective intelligence that can lead to unprecedented levels of creativity, innovation and progress.”

The growth and popularity of DAOs around the world can be attributed to the proliferation of blockchain technologies across a host of industries. As such, there has been a massive spike in Web3 businesses whose preferred organizational structure is decentralized and on-chain. To date, DAOs, treasuries have surpassed an all time high of $20 billion in total value locked. By bringing together representatives and experts from KORIS, Aave Grants DAO, Consensys, Coinshift, Superfluid, Giga and Gauntlet, DAO Tokyo attendees will have the opportunity to experience unfiltered talk sessions, speaker panels and workshops that dive into details surrounding DAO building, DAO governance and the future of DAOs.

Matt Wright, director of decentralized community at Consensys, said:

“DAOs have been around for some years now in the West. We’re slowly understanding the problems they solve, there are a ton of new tools available now for contributors, and governance is getting easier to digest. Tokyo has to be the first time we have realized the maturity of the DAO community by scaling this manifesto to Asia, and we are excited to see where we go from here.”

In addition to the impressive speaker lineup, several renowned organizations are participating in and sponsoring the event, including KORIS, Aave Grants DAO, Lens Protocol, Accenture, ConsenSys, MIDAO and dYdX Foundation.

Chelsea Kubo, co-founder and chief operating officer of KORIS, said:

“DAO Tokyo’s community and conference is a unique opportunity to meet with DAO innovators from all over the world, but also a very special chance to encourage Web3 growth in Japan and Asia. Being half-Japanese makes this opportunity very unique to me. From overseas, I cheer on Japan’s increasingly progressive approach to Web3 and would like to continue to see it flourish. To participate in this conference is an opportunity to be a part of this history, which is very exciting. What we build here will be a chance to encourage and foster DAO innovation for the next-generation of Web3 businesses and communities, not only in Japan but also worldwide.”
