On the first weekend of September, the Hodl Hodl team is holding its annual Bitcoin (BTC) conference in Riga, Latvia — Baltic Honeybadger 2023. This year, it will be a special fifth edition of the longest-running Bitcoin-only conference in the world and the most OG Bitcoin-only event globally.
Since 2017, Baltic Honeybadger has hosted many important Bitcoin industry players, including Saifedean Ammous, Andreas Antonopoulos, Jimmy Song, Adam Back, Michael Saylor, Jack Mallers and many more. This year, the conference speaker list will include regulars like Adam Back, Giacomo Zucco, Peter Todd, Tuur Demeester and new faces like Balaji, Robert Breedlove and Tadge Dryja. The BH team also mentioned that some big names are yet to be announced in August.
The 2023 edition will be the largest Baltic Honeybadger ever held, hosting over 100 speakers, three stages and around 1,000 attendees. The General Admission ticket grants two-day access to all conference facilities, including the afterparties and side events held as a part of Riga Bitcoin Week.
Riga Bitcoin Week is a week dedicated to Bitcoin technologies and adoption, holding networking events, meetups and parties from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. Some confirmed events include Layer-2 day, an event around Bitcoin scaling technologies; BTCPayServer Day, a traditional BTCPayServer team gathering in Riga; and the highly requested Noob Day, a day full of beginner content. This year’s Riga Bitcoin Week will be the biggest ever, with many more side events hosted under its umbrella.
As this is the fifth edition of BH, the team has prepared some surprises for attendees. Firstly, this year’s event will have the largest number of speakers ever. Secondly, the topics will be expanded beyond Bitcoin and will include privacy, freedom of speech, activism and the Nostr network. This year’s event will host three stages simultaneously:
- Main stage — this stage will cover a broad range of Bitcoin topics, such as tech, economy, investments, scaling, communities and more.
- Cypherpunk stage — this stage will cover topics like Bitcoin privacy, freedom of speech, the Nostr network and more. This stage won’t be streamed and recorded, and the content will be available only to conference attendees.
- Workshop stage — this stage will focus on providing practical skills to guests with different workshops and product showcases.
