When it comes to pushing Bitcoin adoption, we have to make both the technology and the software easy to understand for every age category. As we Bitcoin enthusiasts like to say : “It has to be easy enough for my grandmother to understand”. EasBit, a startup company located in The Netherlands, wants to create a granny proof Bitcoin wallet.
EasBit has launched a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGogo in order to develop a granny-proof Bitcoin wallet for Android smartphones. The application will allow users to send and receive transactions in a secure and safe environment.
The team behind EasBit is made up of Junanto Van der Veen and Patrick van Ek. Both of these fine gentlemen have a background in the banking sector, IT and marketing. Because of their backgrounds, both Van der Veen and Van Ek have become self-professed “Bitcoin believers”, due to the transparency, efficiency and decentralization offered by this cryptocurrency.
In order to differentiate themselves from other Bitcoin wallets currently in existence, EasBit will strive to deliver unprecedented contemplated ease-of-use. The team acknowledges the need for “cutting edge” Bitcoin wallets, but they strongly feel that there is a huge demand for a Bitcoin wallet which is far more user-friendly, especially when it comes to novice users.
“This is what needs to happen in order to take Bitcoin mainstream, and the wallet will play a key role as far as adoption goes. In order to create a healthy ecosystem, different leading wallets have to be in existence,” Junanto Van der Veen told us.
As of this writing, the crowdfunding campaign raised US$500 of its US$25,000 goal, with 18 days left on the timer. The only “reward” for backing this campaign comes in the form of an EasBit T-shirt, but you have to pledge US$250 in order to get one.
