Dubai-based DRIFT Studios, a fast-moving GameFi studio with its first game on the eve of Web3-enabled launch and a studio token, DRIFT, has rebranded to DRIFT Labs.

While the DRIFT presale phase remains ongoing, and plans to conduct their IEO on Coinstore remain unchanged, the company felt ‘Labs’ was a better fit for their vision for GameFi and a better reflection of the makeup of the team.

Chief Marketing Officer Paul de Havilland likened it to “crystalizing who we are”. He went on to say:

“We’re quite an eclectic team. While we’re all connected by Web3, we have people who are amazing with the technology, some awesome community builders, others incredibly capable businesspeople, and some really creative minds. We just felt a ‘lab’ of all these varying inputs better reflected us as a company.”

DRIFT Labs continues to build its ecosystem of partnerships and its hotly anticipated Payout Pursuit already has racing and drifting gamers salivating. As 2024 builds towards a bullish year for crypto, DRIFT Labs is preparing to take on the established players in GameFi and cement itself in the Web3 ecosystem.

GT4 racing sensation Max Bird inks a sponsorship deal with DRIFT Labs

DRIFT Labs celebrated the rebrand with a significant sponsorship deal with an emerging star of the European GT4 racing track (with a fast-growing social media following), Max Bird.

With their first game being a racing game, reminiscent of The Need For Speed, Bird seemed the right fit to be DRIFT’s first major sponsorship deal. The sponsorship arrangement will see DRIFT Labs’ logo featured on Bird’s car during the 2024 racing season.

On the deal, de Havilland said:

“Max is a great racer, and a great ambassador for our brand. He’s fast, he’s ambitious, and he has a really bright future ahead of him. We’re really excited to have him on board and we can’t think of anyone else who would better represent the DRIFT brand.”

Bird was equally excited about the tie-up:

“I have partnered up with DRIFT for this season in the European GT4 Series. I am so excited to be a part of the journey and get involved with the game and the crypto community!”
