February 17 2025 – Tim Wong, Chairman of the CATIZEN Foundation, unveiled CATIZEN's 2025 Strategic Plan at the "CATIZEN Asia Mini Games Night" event in Hong Kong. The announcement marks the platform’s transition into a new phase of consumer-grade Web3 applications. As a leader in Web3 entertainment innovation, CATIZEN aims to evolve beyond a gaming platform and build a decentralized, innovation-driven global entertainment ecosystem.
2025 Strategic plan: key initiatives
Wong shared a comprehensive overview of the platform’s development strategy for the coming year, which includes a series of initiatives to upgrade platform functionality and expand its global user base. Key highlights include:
- Launch of 200+ new games, with token consumption projected to exceed 100 million: Since the launch of CATIZEN Mini App Center in August 2024, the platform has introduced 20 mini-games and successfully driven over 9 million tokens in consumption. In 2025, CATIZEN plans to launch more than 200 additional games, with an estimated token uptake surpassing 100 million.
- AI-powered DeFAI product: CATIZEN will introduce an AI-driven Twitter Information Monitoring System, powered by large AI models. The system is designed to enhance platform functionality by providing more accurate data analysis and decision-making tools, further diversifying the platform's revenue sources.
- AI Cat virtual pet: CATIZEN is also developing an AI-powered virtual pet called "AI Cat." Player behaviors and preferences will influence the virtual pet’s personality and interactions, offering a highly personalized and dynamic gaming experience. CATIZEN aims to reshape the concept of virtual pets, allowing players to carry their AI Cat in their pocket for constant companionship.
Wong commented, "Innovation, particularly in AI, is at the core of our strategy. Our upcoming AI-driven products, like AI Cat and the Twitter Information Monitoring System, exemplify how we are leveraging AI to provide smarter, more personalized experiences. We are excited about the potential of these projects to elevate entertainment and interaction."
Global expansion: strengthening the Asian market
CATIZEN plans to further expand its footprint in the Asian market, particularly in Japan and Southeast Asia. Through strategic partnerships with Telegram and TON, CATIZEN will tap into their extensive user bases and technological strengths to drive its global growth.
Additionally, in January 2025, CATIZEN formed a strategic partnership with Thailand's leading exchange, Bitkub, to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia, offering users more opportunities to experience Web3-based entertainment.
Looking ahead: redefining the entertainment landscape
With the launch of AI Cat and the AI-driven DeFAI product, CATIZEN is poised to redefine Web3 entertainment. The platform will continue to prioritize technological innovation and user experience, with the aim of bringing Web3 entertainment to a broader audience.
Wong concluded, "2025 marks a pivotal year in CATIZEN’s journey. Our commitment to AI and innovation will drive the future of entertainment and interaction, pushing the boundaries of traditional experiences and providing users with smarter, more immersive entertainment."
