Bitcoin On Minecraft, One Step Closer To The Mainstream

According to a press release shared with Bitcoinist, payment processor ZEBEDEE announced a partnership with Bitcoin education company Satlantis. The partners will allow Minecraft users to earn BTC rewards through a Satlantis server.

Per the announcement, over 150,000 sats will be rewarded to players daily. Reward payments will be fully processed on the Bitcoin network within the Minecraft platform.

Any gamer can earn rewards by spending time on the game. The partners aimed to provide the legendary game with a new twist by implementing new Bitcoin-based concepts into the gameplay.

Minecraft players will have the option to join BTC’s so-called “mining pools,” earn “mining hardware,” and even validate the network to earn “block rewards.” As in the real world, participants will receive these rewards every 10 minutes when a block is included on the blockchain.

The partnership also aims at boosting Bitcoin education by introducing players to these and other concepts. Users can invest their in-game rewards in digital land, equipment, and resources and conduct other trades.

The BTC education company will allow players to purchase gift cards from Amazon, Walmart, Uber Eats, and other real-world companies. André Neves, CTO and Co-Founder at ZEBEDEE, stated the following regarding the announcement:

We’ve been toying with the idea of infusing Minecraft with our Bitcoin Lightning payments system for a good while. Through this partnership, we’re super excited to be able to bring this to life on the Satlantis server. Thanks to our tech, grinding the world’s largest game won’t only give you sweet gear and resources for epic builds, but also an opportunity to earn real money!

David Dineno, Founder of Satlantis, added:

We started Satlantis to introduce the gaming community to Bitcoin in a fun and engaging environment, and educate them about the key concepts involved in blockchain technology. Our integration with ZEBEDEE takes this to a whole new level by enabling instant Bitcoin rewards for players, with tools to easily access and use their rewards inside the game or in the real world.

Finally, the partners clarified that they have zero affiliation with Mojan Studios, the company behind Minecraft. The BTC integration is made possible, as stated above, by using a modded or custom Minecraft server.

Users can get more information on the BTC rewards by visiting Satlantins.net. Users must download the ZBD app available for Android and iOS to collect rewards.

As of this writing, BTC trades at $30,500 with sideways movement in the last 24 hours.
