AVATA and MAD Global have joined forces to present Picnic, London’s leading digital fashion event during London Fashion Week 2022 this September. Taking place from Friday Sept. 16 through Sunday Sept. 18, the three-day event will explore the rise of digital fashion and include two evening events alongside a 12-hour day of panel discussions, presentations and curated digital fashion and art shows from an international selection of leading digital artists. The Digital Fashion Weekend brings together the world’s leading designers, artists and thought-leaders from the digital and Web3 fashion and art space.

Housed at W1 Immersive in East London, the newly refurbished venue on Timber Street features high-quality digital LED screens that immerse the viewer in digital content as well as being a networking and conference space. The space launches on Sept. 16 with a party by Bloom Twins, a Ukrainian-born English pop music group made up of twin sisters Anna and Sonia Kuprienko. Bloom Twins will be showcasing their clothing line Gussi, created with Flyp.Space, with all profits going to help Ukraine through the trusted charity We Help Ukrainians, and a reusable bottle in partnership with Ocean Bottle. The night will include a 25-minute live performance from Bloom Twins, where they will exclusively premier their new single co-written with the X Ambassadors, called “Beats for Bombs,” along with their Gussi line, which can be tried on in augmented reality on a full-length DressX digital mirror.

On Saturday, AVATA and MAD Global kick off the Picnic weekend with an exclusive evening party featuring live DJs and a special digital fashion experience. An all-day visual feast unlike any traditional fashion event will be front and center on the Sunday, with 12 hours of curated digital content showcasing digital collections by today’s finest international artists and fashion designers who are pioneering the Web3 space, including Fabricant, Artisant, Braw Haws, Neo Deluxe and Stephy Fung to name a few. Viewers should expect reality-bending collections and immersive art displays alongside a thematic organic food offering and high-end cocktails from specialists.

Visitors can purchase single-event tickets or a special all-weekend access pass, with a percentage of proceeds going to World Unite for Ukraine.

About AVATA

AVATA is an art, fashion and lifestyle platform producing artistic cyber collections, curated exhibitions and creative projects in collaboration with digital creators and brands.

An eclectic wonderland of designers and artists from across the universe, AVATA is a place to discover, collaborate, create and collect.

The AVATA phygital collection launches this September as a decentralized fashion brand. The first product — a simple black t-shirt — will be sold as an NFT collectable and includes a digital Metaverse-compatible wearable powered by Gravity Layer, which allows the owner to wear their shirt within the spatial Metaverse, plus a physical 100% organic cotton t-shirt and an NFT artwork of the AVATA character in its environment. To take it a step further, AVATA is working with collaboration protocol Crowdmuse to bring physical product value flows to the blockchain. Crowdmuse launched the first decentralized fashion collective with designers, brands and sustainable micro-suppliers to bring product creation, contribution and ownership on-chain. The simple black t-shirt is no longer so simple, but represents the future of physical and digital ownership.
