AirDAO, a groundbreaking decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), has announced the realization of its long-term ambition for decentralized governance.
AirDAO has transitioned to a community-led governance model following the successful election of nine council members. Now, decision-making power has been placed directly into the hands of its dedicated community.
AirDAO has embraced a new era of democratic decision making. Traditional leadership roles such as director, chief technology officer and CEO are being eliminated. The elected members of the AirDAO Council will assume control over the organization’s finances, operations and blockchain. The community-elected council will have 100% control over AirDAO’s assets from May 31, 2023.
This milestone achievement would not have been possible without the support of AirDAO’s international community. Led by long-term community member Michael Grimwood, the community created the proposal, voted for the proposal to pass via on-chain voting and participated in the council election process. Numerous community members nominated themselves as candidates for the council. The community elected a diverse group of nine council members to guide the future of the AirDAO ecosystem.
The AirDAO team played an integral supporting role throughout the transition. Director and CEO Lang Mei demonstrated exceptional leadership by accepting the community’s innovative proposal and committing to stepping down by May 31, 2023. The AirDAO internal team leveraged its experience and expertise to ensure a seamless election and transition process for the community.
AirDAO will continue its path toward absolute decentralization under the leadership of the new council. Council members are committed to communication with the community to ensure every voice is heard and considered. The AirDAO Council will soon convene to discuss the organization’s plans, prioritizing the development of products the community wants in alignment with AirDAO’s tokenomics upgrade and decentralization roadmap.
